Babysitting

Rachel attended an orientation session yesterday for people wanting to substitute teach in the Cedar Hill district. They said it would still be two weeks before she heard anything. In the meantime, she has gotten some more babysitting jobs.

This special little girl is one of Rachel's favorites. K. is two years old but cannot sit up, roll over, talk, suck or even see. But yesterday Rachel got her to laugh. This baby's diaper bag comes complete with valium for when she goes into seizures.

Tomorrow she is meeting a family who might want her to babysit their 6 kids. The woman put up a notice at the Center, and then she told Rachel she wanted to do a background check on her and meet her in the park instead of her house. Can you say paranoia??

Rachel really needs a real job, but she loves babysitting.

I would say that mom is being very cautious and protecting her family. These days you can never be safe, it is sad but some of the people out there give even teachers a bad name. Be thankful that she is so cautious, that to me would say she cares about her kids and would probably care about Rachel too.
