Baby Shopping

The kids did some shopping at the after-Christmas sales. Laura got some maternity clothes and a coat and Andrew got these! It was fun to see how excited he is about becoming a daddy.

In another day or two I'll have a photo album ready showing all the Christmas activities.

Andrew and Laura flew out very early yesterday morning, and David and Molly left this afternoon so things are lots quieter here. No more cat and dog fights. The Christmas clutter got on my nerves this year, so I took everything down today, earlier than I usually do. I think Gary and I will go back to work tomorrow, but Rachel still has another week off school.

Bleary Eyed

We did some schedule planning for 2008 while everyone was home. We've got some important upcoming events: Rachel goes to Germany, Gary goes to Germany twice, then to Thailand and Kenya, maybe a trip to Michigan in May, we all go to Seattle for David's wedding, we all hurry back to Dallas for a new grandbaby, and then maybe next Christmas at Guavaberry.

But at the moment, it is 6:45am and we've already been to the airport and back. I'm going back to bed as soon as I finish eating my bowl of cereal.

Christmas Family Portrait

Taken at the nursing home where we went caroling on Christmas afternoon. Lord willing, our family photo next Christmas will have two more people in it.

You're Too Old For a Sleepover!

David thought it was hilarious that we were spending the night, but it was a lovely getaway for about 24 hours. We visited the brand new home of Dave and Julie in Granbury, TX.

It was fun to get away and spend some time with friends. Check out the photos.

Play Ball!

It has finally gotten cool enough for Gary and me to wear our matching Texas Rangers' sweatshirts, a gift from Louis Lee (whose wife played the piano at our wedding all those years ago).

We used to own a gold Camaro and Gary used to shovel snow!

1985

I've finished scanning the slides for 1985. Here is just one. We were all off to a Rangers' game. Or maybe we had just all been to a Rangers' game and gotten free caps. Please notice my dad wouldn't cooperate--he was cheering for the Tigers!

The Christmas boxes are packed and I hope to get them mailed today. I hope everyone likes gift cards! Ya'll are too hard to shop for!

The weather went from high 70s on Saturday to the 40s yesterday. We expect to see David on Friday, along with our granddog, Mali, whom we will babysit for two weeks. I'm sure out cats will learn to love Mali. :-) Andrew and Laura are investigating hospitals, and Rachel went to work this morning even though she wasn't feeling so great. Gary is off to an early lecture at GIAL and tonight is our departmenet Christmas dinner. I'm making potatoes au gratin. OK, that's the news, such as it is.
